Tips for a successful and professional profile on LinkedIn

With over 347 million users, LinkedIn is one of the most popular social networks for professionals. In addition, Recruiters increasingly using LinkedIn as a tool for finding interesting candidates for new challenges. Do you want a professional LinkedIn profile? Tip 1: Choose a professional profile photo

Opt for a professional and business profile picture. With a professional profile picture people will recognize you on LinkedIn and also the likelihood will be seven times greater that you are found with a profile picture. Make sure you are faced to your profile, but keep looking at the camera. Also note the correct resolution of 200 × 200 pixels.

Tip 2: Personal URL

Tip 3: Catchy summary

Describe in your summary briefly who you are, what you are good at, what you want to accomplish and what the purpose is of your LinkedIn profile. The more meaningful your summary is, the more attention your visitors will pay on your profile.

When you are looking for a job, describe in your summary what you’re looking for. Step into the shoes of a Recruiter and think of and add keywords used in the search for a candidate, your profile will be found faster by Recruiters.

Tip 4: Work experience

Describe your work experience in concise (three paragraphs) and describe what the organization does and what your main duties and responsibilities are or were. If possible, add projects and ask for recommendations. Connect the business page of the organization to your work experience, so visitors of your profile ' click ' and find out more about the organization you work for or have worked for.

Tip 5: Languages and skills

Add your skills to your LinkedIn profile. You can add up to 50 skills, but make sure that the skills you add are relevant and really apply to you. Also ask for endorsements and recommendations.

Tip 6: Increase your network and stay active!
